Nike and Veneda Carter have released a new colorway of the Air Max Muse, expanding their ongoing collaboration with an updated design that references the brand’s running heritage.

The new version of the Air Max Muse introduces a palette anchored by Racer Blue accents and metallic finishes, paired with a subdued upper featuring a textured, dimpled surface. A silver Swoosh and a jewel-like pendant detail add contrast to the design. According to Carter, the colorway draws on research conducted at Nike’s archives, where she focused on retro running shoes known for their use of glossy materials and bold color combinations. “I wanted to recreate that feeling with this shoe,” she said, referencing the influence of 1990s Nike models. The Air Max Muse silhouette, first introduced in late 2025, is designed with a pronounced arch and sculptural proportions that emphasize the visible Air unit in the heel. The model uses computational design processes to combine cushioning with a more exaggerated, fashion-oriented shape.
Carter’s collaboration builds on this base through material contrasts and styling references that connect performance footwear with contemporary fashion. Her earlier colorway, released in 2025, featured a mix of white, green, and pink tones, alongside matte and rubberized textures inspired by outdoor apparel. The project forms part of Nike’s broader focus on women’s footwear that merges sport and lifestyle design. The Air Max Muse is positioned as a versatile silhouette intended for both everyday wear and styling across different contexts, from casual use to more formal settings. Campaign imagery for the collaboration has previously been shot in Warsaw, Poland, Carter’s family hometown, underscoring the personal references embedded in the project.

The sneaker will be available exclusively via Carter’s website on March 6, followed by a wider release on March 13 through SNKRS and select retail partners.
